Police Sergeant

  • Served as mentor and role model to junior officers.
  • Supervised and coordinated daily operations of routine patrol shifts of up to 30 officers.
  • Answered emergency calls for help from citizens and business owners.
  • Supervised the Domestic Violence Unit at the 120th Precinct, where I oversaw 14 Police Officers. Those 14 Police Officers managed 50-70 domestic violence cases at any given time, where they collaborated with the Precinct Detective Squad and Staten Island District Attorneys Office in order to fully investigate and make summary arrests.
  • Supervised the 120th Precinct Plain Cloths Unit, where we would monitor high crime areas, including repeat offenders know to the department. I supervised 4-6 Police Officer who made summary arrests and presented their cases to the Staten Island District Attorneys Office.
  • Towards the later part of my career I supervised Community Affairs, Youth, and Traffic Units. In that capacity I oversaw approximately 10-12 Police Officers and Detectives, where on any given day I was either attending a weekly Precinct community meeting, preparing and attending traffic stat at headquarters, or visiting various High School and Middle School Principals to discuss issues among students that required police intervention.
  • During my tenor I also was assigned to the Staten Island Counter Terrorism Unit were we would deploy 1 Sergeant and 4 -6 Police Officers to high threat areas throughout the 5 boros in order to deter and counter act any terroristic threats.
  • Attended Dignitary Training where I was taught the logistics of high level VIP protection.
