• Performed surgeries to sever the optic chiasm of normal and myelin deficient rats. Examined the optic nerve for re-growth in controls and animals given fetal brain tissue transplants by analyzing fixed brain sections by both light and electron microscopy.

• Correlated the induction of genes and proteins necessary for removal of superoxide radicals formed in cells exposed to hyperoxia or treated with chemical inducers of oxygen radicals.

• Compared levels of Heavy and Light Ferritin in serum from healthy and ill men. Measured cytokine production in cells as a result of secondary signals from arachidonic acid metabolism and growth factors on lymphocytes.
