Through my two years working as a news reporter and my last semester also taking on the opportunity as assistant station manager. I learned how to be creative, outspoken, engaging, unique. The competitiveness of local news is incredible how everyone races to be the first one to publish a story, I realized our small university news station was not going to beat the big local stations if we kept following them so I thought to go our own way of doing research to have our own news stories. take social media to promote our news but also the people working behind the scenes to engage students and anyone else who came across our pages. I was deeply motivated with getting as many views on my news stories which in the end lead to me having currently the most viewed story on the vaquero radio website with over 10,000 views. My mind is set on being creative to stand out and have people noticed us for our hard work.
