  • In 2020 North Las Vegas re-opened their jail. As one of two people hired initially for this task, I took part in planning, purchasing, and coordinating the complex task of opening a jail that had been closed for eleven years. This also included the training of staff and supervisors; half of which had no correctional or law enforcement experience at all.
  • I assisted in the generation of policy and procedure and the education of approximately 60 officers. About half of those officers had laterally transferred as Correctional Officers and the other half were new to law enforcement in general.
  • I directly oversaw the training and orientation of officers into a jail that was unfamiliar to everyone.
  • My efforts in this coordination and training earned me a promotion to the rank of Lieutenant.
