Highly motivated and skilled individual with over 25 years of experience in the fire service. My personal drive and passion involve proactively training, mentoring, and developing others to their highest potential using a detail-oriented approach and technical expertise that I believe is paramount as the Assistant Chief for Beverly Hills Fire Department.
As a Company Officer, I work at our USAR station, which also houses an engine and truck company. I supervise 5 employees on a daily basis. My main responsibility is to ensure the safety of my crew while overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Fire Station. I have been tasked with bringing our current USAR apparatus up to a Type 1 Heavy Rescue Unit. This undertaking involves delegating numerous tasks to bring this to fruition. I am also responsible with ensuring reports and training requirements are complete and on time. I am the lead instructor and creator of our very own in-house truck company academy, and oversee the annual truck recertification program. I have trained, certified and recertified numerous members of our fire department over the years.
As the senior fire investigator assigned to the A-shift, I am responsible for determining the origin and cause of all fires in the city. I work in collaboration with the Ventura Police Department when arson is suspected. I process the fire scene and collect evidence to be analyzed and tested in a lab. I photograph and provide sketches of the fire scene and document my findings in a detailed fire report
