I was a full time at home Personal Care Assistant for my disabled father. I started helping him after I graduated college in 2008. I was officially recognized as an employee of his in 2014 when my father become enrolled in the NJ Personal Preference Program. Through this program I assisted him until he passed away in November 2024.
During this time I assisted with a wide range of needs, including all aspects of daily needs (Meals, Dressing, Bathing, Medication) as well as setting up doctor appointments and coordinating transportation.
I regularly spoke to his numerous doctors about care and treatment options, test results, and the long term prognosis of his numerous ailments.
