  • I was required to take care of my mom after my dad passed away. She was able to do some things for the first three years, but then required me to do more because of falling and failing health. This required me to stay at home and not be able to continue working for a company. I performed shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and cleaning herself when she couldn't do it for herself. She passed on 8-23-2023. So then we had get the house ready to sell, which took a few months and sold at the end of the year. I received an inheritance from the sale, took a break last year, and I'm ready to get back to work.

  • I worked for a contractor as a multiple duty person, which included demolition, framing, dry wall, plumbing, electrical, painting. I installed windows, doors, baseboards, casing around doors and windows, cabinets, Corian countertops, and some tile work. The employer needed to stop buying houses due to the change in the market, but did let me take unemployment during that time, which I appreciated! He contacted me to come back to work for him, but I was unable to do full-time work due to my parent care.

  • I started at Aramark as my first career job in the service industry. I enjoyed working as a coffee repair technician. They taught me to repair, clean, and install the machine at businesses in San Francisco. I traveled throughout the East Bay and North Bay areas as well. I did get a promotion to service manager within two years. I did that job for an additional 10 years. I was then offered the opportunity to take over a coffee sales route driver position, which I did until I quit to move to the Sacramento area in 2001. This route was a base plus commission job, and I usually worked 50 to 60 hours a week. I left on good terms, and they were sad to see me leave!
