Summary

Throughout my time working as a Correctional Officer I have became skilled in working with people with diverse mental health diseases. The current inmate population I work with have mental health diagnosis ranging from drug/ alcohol addiction, developmental disabilities, anger management, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and other major personality disorders. Working with a broad spectrum of people has majorly enhanced my communication skills and ability to provide help to others when they are in a mental health crisis. Working in a Mental Health correctional setting has also taught me empathy, and how to better help others.
