• The Director of Inmate Programs and Services is responsible to screen inmates’ written request for social work services, mental health evaluations, drug and alcohol counseling. Outside hair care services, ministerial counseling and visitation. Crisis intervention for inmates and their family, etc., and respond accordingly via written and telephonic communications or actual visits to office locations to the following state, county, local and other outside agencies: Department of Social Services, SC Board of Education, SC Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Department, Coastal Empire Mental Health, Sherriff’s Office, and other Law Enforcement agencies, Volunteers of Low country Ministers and Ministries: is responsible to notify inmates in the event of death or serious illness of next of kin, and other problems as they arise. Works under the direction of the Security Lieutenant.
