I grew up in Washington, Illinois, and completed my high school education at Washington Community High School, where I focused my studies on math and science. I did 2 years of undergrad at Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Illinois, where I studied Pre-Pharmacy. I am currently a 1st year pharmacy student at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in Iowa City, Iowa. I have been employed with CVS Health as a Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacist intern since July 2020. My current pharmacy interests are in health system pharmacy/clinical pharmacy, pediatrics, and oncology.
I started with CVS in July 2020 in East Peoria, Illinois, working as a pharmacy technician. During the 2 years I spent working at this location, in addition to all the normal responsibilities of a technician, I dealt a lot with services dealing with COVID-19. I was the primary technician in charge of COVID-19 drive-thru testing, and dealt with insurance and billing problems, problems with appointments, as well as the inventory of supplies and walking patients through the test. During the winter of 2020-2021, we were also helping with getting nursing homes vaccinated, and I was the technician in charge of packing supplies for the team to take to the nursing homes the next day. I also got certified as a technician to give vaccines as well.
I moved to Iowa City, Iowa, in the summer of 2022 to start pharmacy school at the University of Iowa, and I became licensed as a pharmacist intern and currently work there now.
