Prostitution & Mapping Team:

• A Detective specializing in crimes, conducting thorough and accurate investigations into offenses related to prostitution, human trafficking, and other unlawful activities. Proactive approach in identifying, monitoring, and apprehending individuals involved in illegal activities, particularly those exploiting minors or coercing individuals into prostitution.

Neighborhood Resource Unit-NRU-C (Proactive):

• Provide public safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws, and promoting good community relations. Identified, pursued, and arrested suspects and perpetrators of criminal acts. Reviewed facts of incidents to determine if criminal act or statute violations were committed. Evaluated complaint and emergency-request information to determine response requirements. Monitored, noted, reported, and investigated suspicious persons and situations, safety hazards, and unusual or illegal activity in patrol area.

Northside District Priority Service Squad (PSS/PSU):

• Conduct enforcement and patrol locations identified as requiring additional strategic attention due to prevailing trends of criminal activity, including but not limited to robberies, aggravated batteries, auto thefts, burglaries, and narcotics investigations. When the district has a large number of calls holding, units will assist in clearing those calls.

Uniform patrol:

• Enforcing and ensuring that state, county, criminal and traffic laws as well as local ordinances are enforced
• Patrol the unincorporated areas of Miami-Dade County inside of a marked patrol vehicle to preserve law and order
• Respond to a variety of calls that require several intervention approaches ranging from personal counseling techniques to the use of physical and or deadly force
• Respond to a variety of medical calls for service possibly resulting in the administration of first aid, the use of an AED and the application of tourniquets
• Conduct searches and surveillance to determine whereabouts of persons to be served, arrested and returned to proper authorities and or other law enforcement entities
• Search vehicles, buildings, homes and property for evidence and stolen property
• Protected citizens by preventing crime, enforcing laws and apprehending suspects
• Issued traffic tickets and wrote incident reports according to commissioner specifications

• Inspected cells and conducted random searches of common areas
• Monitored daily activities to identify and manage suspicious behavior, improper conduct and signs of conflict
• Employed de-escalation techniques, verbal commands and physical and mechanical restraints to address unruly inmates
• Observed inmate behavior to prevent crime, escape attempts and other dangerous activities
• Supervised residents during meal distribution and intake, recreation time and work-site performance
• Transported inmates to and from medical and dental appointments, funerals, work details and court hearings
• Maintained inmate logs and entered information into electronic offender record systems for regulatory monitoring
• Received property from incoming inmates, provided receipts and inspected items for contraband
• Processed inmate intake and re-assignment by completing paperwork, conducting searches and recording fingerprints
• Reviewed housing assignments and reassigned inmates to meet allocation and safety needs

• Oversaw public areas and grounds to verify cleanliness and inmate safety
• Instructed inmates on work detail and oversaw work-site transportation
• Inspected locks, window bars, doors and security systems to support escape prevention
