  • Collaborate with referring veterinarian, their hospital staff and pet parents to collect all patient history, diagnostics and any other external information, pertaining to patient's reason for referral.
  • Summarize and attach all obtained information in patient's clinical summary for surgeon review prior to surgical consultation.

  • Maintain, document and update surgeon of patient medical history/diagnostic results updates, referring veterinarian updates and pet parent updates.
  • Schedule surgeries and ability to answer pet parent questions pertaining to specific surgeries.
  • Record surgical procedures, overnight hospitalization protocol/treatments and follow up plans in a timely manner for surgeon review and completion.
  • Inform and update pet parents/primary care veterinarian about surgical procedures, recommended medical treatments and post operative aftercare with surgeon's guidance.
  • Facilitate positive experience with seamless transitions and low stress for pet parent, pet, our hospital staff and surgeon by keeping everyone informed of a plan of action/next steps/any special information.
  • Create working trusted relationships with pet parents and also surgeon in order to act as a trusted liaison between surgeon and pet parent for ease of communicating critical surgeon directed information.
