To obtain a position as an Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant
4-5.5 week clinical rotation while in the Touro Physician Assistant Program
-Observing and assisting in various interventional radiology procedures under the supervision of experienced radiologists and physician assistant. Including but not limited to; nephrostomy tube placement, lung biopsy, bone marrow biopsy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, lymphoscintigraphy, angiogram, and picc line placement.
-Monitoring patient's vitals and understanding the use of fluoroscopy, contrast media, and other equipment during radiology procedures.
-Interpreting various radiological images with consulting physicians, including x-rays, CT scans, MRI and ultrasounds.
-Discussing procedures and potential risks or benefits with patients and families.
-Assisting with patient preparation, including positioning and draping.
-Participation in educational case discussions about interventional radiology techniques and technologies.
