As a Cable and Fiber Optic Technician, I was responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining low-voltage structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables in both residential and commercial environments. My work involved terminating and labeling cables using patch panels, keystone jacks, and faceplates while ensuring clean, organized cable management. I regularly performed fiber optic fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve signal loss or network performance issues. I routed and secured cables through walls, ceilings, and conduits in compliance with NEC and local building codes. Additionally, I diagnosed and repaired connectivity problems with network equipment such as switches and modems, and consistently worked with project managers and contractors to meet installation deadlines. My role also included maintaining accurate documentation of site layouts, test results, and inventory, while providing professional customer service and technical support to clients on-site.
