Currently a NERC RC Certified Transmission System Operator with twenty seven years of experience in the Utility Industry, all of that time spent with the Public Service Co of New Mexico.
In that time I have done everything from help a new customer set up their first PNM residential account to participating in the ground up construction of a Substation.
For me, the benefit of having worked at PNM has been the numerous opportunities I've been provided for continuous improvement.
Over the years I've been able to utilize the skills developed during different Job tiltles that I've held, as building blocks to not only further my career, but to continually challenge myself.

Transmission System Operator, Public Service Co of NM.
Responsible for the reliable and safe operation of PNM’s Bulk Electric Transmission system, under both normal and emergency conditions.
I have been given the authority to take necessary actions to maintain the safety and reliability of the Bulk Electric Transmission system, up to and including the shedding of firm load without obtaining approval from higher-level personnel.
I am also responsible for complying with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Operating Standards, PNM's Operating Standards and following the direction of the Reliability Coordinator.

Responsible for planning and maintaining adequate power generation supplies for expected power demand in PNM's Balancing Authority area, and maintaining the reliability within PNM's Balancing Authority.
Plans installation and performs primary and secondary instrument transformer metering, installs current and potential transformers for industrial and commercial customers including the installation and maintenance of electric meters at power plant and substations
• Installed various types watthour, var-demand or var-hour meters and performed the testing of special meters and instrument transformers when needed, assisted in standardization laboratory, on assignment in developing and maintaining working standards for accuracy of equipment
• Maintained a complete record of meter installations, tests and changes made.
DUTIES: Under general directive supervision of the electric meter-Working Foreman or Journeyman Meterman.
Job Duties I had during this time frame:
Duties included installing both underground and overhead Primary and Secondary Services.
Installed Three Phase and Single Phase Comercial, Residential and Municipal Services.
Set utility poles, Switchgears and Transformers.
Made repairs to street lights and street light circuits.
Responded to after hours emergencies and call outs.
Made emergency repairs 24 / 7 when necesary.
Duties included setting Single Phase residential and comercial Watthour Meters.
Performing cut in and cut outs of Single Phase residential and comercial Watthour Meters, as well as NMPRC mandated Periodic and Sample exchanges of the same types of meters.
In the PNM Call Center.
Assisted PNM Customers with a variety of Customer issues, including setting up new accounts, reconciling past due accounts and assisting customers with payment arraignments.
