Noted Career Contribution: in October of 2024, I was contracted for hire by the legal team representing Mr. Paul Graziano, CEO at UBI FL, as an independent roofing and safety expert. Mr. Graziano and UBI FL were acting General Contractors completing a project restoration post hurricane disaster in south Florida. A roofing company was subcontracted for the removal and replacement of a commercial built up roof assembly. The job was not completed using OSHA required safety procedures, was not properly installed to industry standards. The subcontractor refused to assume responsibility, forcing UBI FL to move forward with a lawsuit. My job was to do an independent evaluation and roof inspection, review photos and video documenting the project progress, then write a comprehensive report for the court detailing my findings with recommendations, as an expert in my industry. I was also required to appear in court to testify and answer cross examination questions if necessary. This was a very important achievement for my career because my expert testimony was the primary factor contributing to the ultimate win for Mr. Graziano and UBI FL’s lawsuit. My investigation uncovered multiple OSHA violations that put the workers and public’s safety at risk, and pointed out over 15 application errors that compromised the integrity of the entire roof assembly.
