Summary

As a teacher, my objective has been to help students achieve their goals and help them become good people. I make a concerted effort to incorporate literacy strategies into lessons to help enhance student literacy skills. I also try to incorporate cooperative learning activities for students because they will need those skills in the workforce. I have maintained a safe and orderly classroom and aligned classroom lessons with the North Carolina standards. My philosophy has always been to be a life-long learner and instill that belief into others. I have recently been interested in helping students with special needs and have added that specialization onto my license. I have a renewed energy and hope to help students who need help the most.

  • I co-taught with ELA teachers in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade to help students in the classroom and support growth in reading comprehension. I scheduled meetings for IEPs and helped make decisions about their goals for the classroom. I encouraged critical thinking skills through implementing activities in class that would help them in their academic future.
