In my experience as a nurse I have learned many skills. Whether it is in physical, hands-on nursing at bedside, patient advocacy in end of life care or in my current position, establishing a leadership/ teaching role with the direct care staff. I have earned my RN Trainer certification with DODD which allows me to teach and train direct support professionals to administer medications to our individuals in the group home setting. I oversee the yearly recertification of med administration and health related skills for our valued staff members which is invaluable to the care of our developmentally disabled individuals in our group homes. I have established a positive working relationship with our leadership team, families and caregivers of our individuals and believe I am a great asset to our team!
