
I have been able to gain experience in every division of the Lubbock Police Department. I have supervised SWAT operations. I have supervised Patrol officers in high risk calls. I have supervised gang and vice undercover investigations. I have supervised property crime investigations. I have supervised the Crowd control unit of the LPD in numerous protest and one Major RIOT. I have supervised the Traffic unit since 2018.
I started with the Lubbock Police Department in January of 1995. Upon completion of the Basic Academy i was assigned to the Patrol Division.
I have had a very well rounded career. I was a full time instructor at the LPD Academy for almost a year. I was assigned to LPD SWAT in October of 2000, and continued to work Patrol. I was reassigned to Accident Investigation in November of 2001. I investigated major crash scenes and fatal crash scenes. I was reassigned to Property Crimes in 2003. I investigated property crimes and was assigned to work the habitual offender program. I was reassigned to Person Crimes in 2006. I investigated Homicide and Sexual assualt crimes. In 2008 I promoted to Sergeant and transferred to Patrol Division. I was reassigned to traffic in 2009 as a Motor Sergeant. I was reassigned to Patrol in December of 2010. I went back to the LPD SWAT team in 2012 as a Team Sergeant. I was reassigned to Special Operations in 2013. I stepped down for the SWAT team in 2015. I was reassigned to Property Crimes as a Burglary Sergeant. I promoted to Lieutenant in 2016 and moved to Patrol. I was assigned as a Watch Commander for Nights. I was reassigned to Traffic Division in 2018 as the Traffic Commander. I became a Day shift patrol watch command in 2020. In 2021 I moved to Special Operations and was the Lieutenant over TAG/Taskforce unit until I retired in 2024.
I moved to Horseshoe bay and went to work for the Llano County Sheriff's Office in January of 2025 as the Chief Deputy.
I worked for a property management company when I exited the Army. I was waiting to test for the Lubbock Police Department. I tested at my first opportunity.
I joined the Army in November of 1986 and went to basic training at Fort Benning Georgia. After completion of Infantry Basic and Ait, and Airborne School I was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg North Carolina. I promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was assigned as a Team leader and then a Squad Leader. I attended Primarly Leadership developement and numerous small unit leader courses while assigned to the 82nd Airborne. I deployed several times with the unit. I deployed to Operation Just Cause in Panama in 1989. I deployed to Saudi Arabia for Desert Shield and Desert Stom in 1990. Upon return to Fort Bragg in 1991, I had a knee surgury to repair my left knee. I was assigned to the recruiting command to rehab my knee. I was assigned to Lubbock Texas as an Army Recruiter. I re-injured my knee and had to have a partal reconstruction on my left knee. I seperated from the U.S. Army in 1993. I received numberous awards as a soldier. I earned the Expert Infantry Badge, the Combat Infantry badge. I earned the Army Airborne Wings. The British Army Airborne Wings. I was award the Army Achievement medal and the Army Accomadation medal. The Good Conduct award twice. I was awarded several written accomandations.
