Responsibilities at Dell Technologies

• Supported Dell’s Converged Infrastructure solution, including VxBlock and PowerFlex, ensuring optimal compute and storage, performance and reliability.
• Provided advanced support for Cisco Nexus 3K, 5K, 9K, and MDS switching devices, as well as Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS).
• Led and facilitated team meetings, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across diverse support teams.

Converged Infrastructure Lab Support

• Maintained and managed Dell’s Converged Infrastructure lab environments to ensure their availability for development and testing purposes.

• Migration of the entire site’s IP addresses to a new corporate standard
• Migrating to replace non-corporate routing protocol (EIGRP) to new standard protocol (OSPF)

• Services were provided using the Cisco Virtual Multi-tenant Data Center (VMDC) design which was built on four VCE VBlock 2s
• Configures and maintains Cisco network equipment including and not limited to 6500 series, Nexus 7k series, Nexus 5K, Nexus 1K, FWSM, Cisco virtual switching system (VSS) and Cisco Unified computing systems (UCS)
• Daily responsibilities - Work direct with customers to configure and troubleshoot site to site VPN connections, ASA firewalls rules, ACE load balancer configurations, Virtual Machine provisioning using VMware 4.x and third party networking hardware
• Security responsibilities - include Cisco ASAs for edge traffic filtering as well as remote access, utilizing L2L VPN's
• Secure VPN client access enabled through the Cisco thick client as well as SSL (AnyConnect) both via the ASA platform
• Configuration responsibilities for Cisco ACS (Access Control Server) - included authentication of all users accessing network equipment (via Harris Active Directory Infrastructure) as well as network device access via TACACS+

• Network Engineer with responsibility for City of Charlottesville network
• This included a complete redesign of the existing network and creation of a parallel network while conversion was taking place
• The upgrade consisted of replacing every network device from Core to Access
• City’s aging SoNet Ring Hardware was replaced with a redundant design utilizing Cisco 3750 hardware while upgrading capacity to Gigabit speeds
• Daily responsibilities - include all Layer2 and Layer 3 switching/routing infrastructure (2960 thru 6500)
• Security responsibilities - include Cisco ASAs for edge traffic filtering as well as remote access, utilizing L2L VPN's
• Secure VPN client access enabled through the Cisco thick client as well as SSL (AnyConnect) both via the ASA platform
• Wireless knowledge - includes Cisco's centralized WLC, utilizing LWAPP
• Designed secure Wireless Guest Access for City residents as well as enabling seamless employee access via ACS
• Configuration responsibilities for Cisco ACS - included authentication of all users accessing City resources via Wireless and VPN through Radius (via City's Active Directory Infrastructure) as well as network device access via TACACS+
