While serving in this role I advocate for my class, speaking to senior Coast Guard officials. I write memos, hold meetings, plan morale events, correspond with the Link in the Chain, and work with others to improve morale within our class and the corps of cadets.
Worked essentially as the morale officer for a corps of 200+ cadets. Led a group of 5 chaplain assistants to maintain readiness and morale on campus. Had a confidentiality obligation and was trained by professional counselors to be prepared to meet the needs of anyone who required my services at any time of the day or night.
Led a group of recruits through what is Marion's version of swab summer. Was in charge of 15 cadet cadre and ensured the plan of the day was carried out while holding recruits accountable regarding discipline and military readiness. Some of these recruits were prior enlisted army soldiers or future military officers.
