  • As an IMM, I am tasked with making sure that the plants equipment performs to its most efficient and highest capabilities. I have rebuilt industrial roller mills with a team of up to five people. I also work with contractors for equipment installations and repairs. I have done a significant amount of welding repairs with a Stick and Mig welder due to the roughness of the material we process. I do daily pm’s on the equipment such as the roller mills, gearboxes and motors. The pm’s involve visual inspections, checking the oil levels and greasing the equipment. This position requires me to be trained in a multitude of heavy equipment such as a genie, a high reach, mobile crane as well as a forklift. I use hand tools to numatic tools to perform repairs on the equipment. I rebuild gearboxes to motors to conveyor systems and conveyor belt replacement and bearings. I align motors as well as doing vibration testing to make sure everything is within tolerance

  • As a crane chaser I would follow the crane operator around and secure his loads using glommers, chains, and other industrial straps. I would then climb up the back or railcars and guide him using hand signals and my radio. I would then secure the load on the railcar and send it to the customer. As a crane operator I would pick up and sort through sheets of metal using the spreader arm. I would then load them on the back of empty railcars and trucks.

I have experience working in large industrial sites and working safely around heavy equipment. I have taken a 5 day safety class on how to work around locomotives and cranes. In this class I was also taught how to properly get on and off railcars safely.
