Worked entry level “dead end” jobs most of my young life. Then I got accepted into a welding program, and everything changed for me. I found a passion for building and creating I did not know I had. After welding school I took a job with Vigor up in Ketchikan Alaska at the shipyard. And I was smitten. Learning new things everyday, doing the kind of work that few people dream of.. what’s not to love? Unfortunately the state kicked out our operation due to contractual failures regarding the lease, and the whole shipyard was laid off. Now I’m back in Colorado working at the airport. And it’s fine, easy work. But really.. I want to get back to burning metal. I’d love to get back into an environment where I can keep welding and learning new ways to build and plan. It’s my passion.
