I’m a hard worker, and raised on a farm. A place where you need to be intuitive and understand what needs to be done before being told. I know how to work and I’m not afraid to be told what to do. I’ve worked grocery most of my work career. I’ve floated around through nearly every department. I would cover any shift that needed to be covered so I could learn more. I was forklift certified as well. Authorized to work in the US for any employer.
I mostly just threw freight and learned the expectations of an employee on every isle as far as how many cases an hour should be thrown on any given isle.
I worked freight and learned every single isle within the store. I had helped variety and covered a couple of shifts in that department and learned where variety items go as well.
I worked on the freight crew as the back up order writer for frozen and main order writer in meat and cheese. Through different times I learned the basic functions of unloading trucks, operating the forklift, and making sure that every isle is thrown and faced for the next day. I was also the back up freight checker to cover the main checkers day off. During that time I learned how to use the register and what to stock as the night checker. There were a few days while in this role that I had to stock the bread that day as well.
I unloaded and received trucks in the back section of the store. I also did inventory and made sure that all old merchandise was being taken off the floor to make room for the new product.
I was in charge of making sure all the materials were organized and maintained. I received new materials off trucks and unloaded them with a forklift. I also delivered materials to workers with a forklift if needed. I also learned how to do some fabrication as well.
I worked in the fresh foods department opening and closing the hot case and fry section. I also worked in the pizza department opening and closing there as well.
During this time I learned the importance of engaging customers and making sure their needs are being met however I can. I monitor sweep logs and maintain a safe a clean environment. I have ran the front end making sure that the checkers are taking breaks appropriately while also doing any exchanges. I worked the 3:30 to midnight shift as well making sure the walls and ends are pulled and filled to the shelves while also covering any breaks. Lastly, I have worked the freight shift as Lead as well. I learned how to print read and utilize the CSV report to make sure that the isles are being done in a reasonable time. I unload and receive trucks for the freight crew and also direct trucks. I order A side, B side, and wall buy items.
