- Assisted in creating engaging outdoor video content for a well-known outdoor channel.
- Engaged in customer interaction when going on Habitat land consults. Expectations of me were to watch, take notes, and gain information of land consultation while also conversing with the landowner about what information I knew.
- Conducted research on outdoor activities and wildlife conservation topics.
- Provided lots of diverse content for Growing Deer to post on their social media platforms.
- Conducted habitat management strategies, such as clearing hardwoods and treating stumps, controlling invasive species, preparing and implementing prescribed fire, broadcasting seed for food plots, and spraying fertilizer/chemical to food plots.
- Specific duties were chainsawing, backpack spraying, dragging brush, cutting limbs, and applying herbicide.
- Other activities include setting up tree stands, fixing trail cameras, fixing roads, cutting fire lines etc...
- A crucial aspect of the internship was being able to work well with my interns as a team, while accomplishing what needed to be accomplished.
- Overall, I gained an extensive amount of knowledge about habitat management and land management tactics, learned to effectively conduct a landowner consultation, and obtained a lot of customer service and people skills while having to meet so many new people and connections.
