Passionate and Caring Bilingual Telephone Triage Nurse with 15 years of experience assessing patient conditions both in person and over the phone.
I started as a ER technician at Tuality Hospital while I was in nursing school and a year after graduating Nursing School my first hospital job was as a ER Nurse. I worked in the Emergency room for 6yrs which gave me a strong nursing foundation. Then I transferred to our Community Nurse Outreach Program at the Hospital called "Salud" which provides medical support & care to agricultural workers while still doing per-diem work in the ER. As a community nurse I did a lot of triage, patient education, case management, health-fairs focusing on preventative health, and assisted our patient with any medical needs that came up.
Achievement- While working as a Community & ER Nurse my biggest achievement was gaining the trust of our patients and being able to bridge them to the correct resources/referrals when they were going through a crisis. I also became highly effective with prioritizing patient cases based on patient acuity levels in the ER.
Supported Providence Medical Group out-patient clinics when they had RN shortages. As float nurse I mainly supported Urgent Cares, Family Practice Clinics, Infectious Disease Clinics, OB/GYN clinics, and Cardiology Clinics.
Achievements- Being in the RN float pool can be challenging because you have to constantly learn and adapt to the different work flows and clinic environments. My achievement as a float nurse was working on growing my mindset to be more adaptable and learning how to interact with different personalities gracefully at each clinic site, and not being afraid to ask questions at each clinic when I was unsure of how they carried out certain clinic tasks or workflows.
