Accomplishments

  • Collaborated with Naval Hospital Jacksonville's only Sleep Neurologist, Pulmonologist, IT department, ItamarZOLL WatchPAT300 regional Sales Manager, ItamarZOLL equipment specialist and ItamarZOLL's IT team in the development of The Naval Hospital Jacksonville's first Out- Patient Home Sleep Study Clinic. Streamlining access to care for diagnostic testing of sleep disorders. Successfully trained two clinicians, and five corpsman on how to properly use the equipment and software as well as how to view the raw data being uploaded from the issued devices. Trained five corpsman on how to properly set up the equipment for patient use, how to book appointments, proper documentation, and how to educate the patient on device operation. This outpatient clinic has saved the Naval Hospital approximately $800k in only 10 months. This has also deferred the amount of network referrals being placed.
  • Initiated the Video Virtual Health program for the Internal Medicine department of Naval Hospital Jacksonville allowing patient to be seen from the comfort of their home, allowing better access to care for patients seeing our 8 specialist providers consisting of Cardiology, Pulmonology, Internal Medicine and Dermatology.
  • Initiated the Virtual Health Program in Naval Hospital Sigonella, allowing for patients located in Sicily, Italy to be seen in a timely manner by specialists located in Landstuhl, Germany; Naples, Italy; Rota, Spain, and other Military Physicians located through out the U.S. Before fully initiating this program, I had been sent to Landstuhl, Germany to be trained on specimen collections, physical examinations, proper appointment bookings, and patient education resources. This program had reduced the amount of patients being flown to different locations throughout Europe saving the Command over 1 million dollars in travel costs. This program had also allowed for me to perform independent specimen collections and examinations while the medical provider was supervising via video call and medical provider availability in the chances of a medical emergency.
  • Was The leading petty officer of a Marine Logistics Group branch clinic located in Camp Pendleton, CA, Where I was tasked with over-seeing the care of 8 marine corps units while working with their medical staff establishing provider clinic schedules, Nurse coverage, Hospital Corpsman coverage, increase of sick call availability, management of clinic medical equipment, medical supplies, infection control, staff education and training, and coordinating drills for medical emergencies. These had all contributed to a successful Joint commission inspection in which the clinic and staff had passed with flying colors.
