During my tenure in training at the Maryland State Police Academy, the curriculum covered a wide range of subjects, including criminal law, constitutional law, state and local ordinances, criminal investigations, patrol procedures, and report writing. Emphasis was placed on attention to detail in investigations, documentation, and accurately recording details in written reports for judicial review to ensure they can withstand scrutiny.

We trained in an intense and accelerated courses of study delving deeply in fire science and spread, hazmat response and protocols, airbourne partials and spread to include rate of travel and distance based on environmental factors and human behavior.
