  • -Operated and maintained farm machinery and equipment, including hoes for tilling and weeding smaller weeds, serrated knives for harvesting, cutting rope, packaging, etc., and stake pounders to set stakes into the ground for crops like tomatoes
  • -Assisted in thoroughly weeding the fields by hand, ensuring the crops to thrive
  • -Harvesting a wide variety of crops using different tools and techniques; such as using a knife to harvest smaller greens like spinach, arugula and mizuna; or using clippers to cut squash from the vines
  • -Transporting and carrying large barrels and sacks of crops weighing up to 30-70 lbs
  • -Washing all of the crops we harvested in large barrels full of water or a drum cleaning machine
  • -Assembling hundreds of reusable cardboard boxes and packing the boxes with freshly harvested crops to send out to the shareholders in the city
  • -Moving and assembling irrigation systems by moving big metal pipes or tubes across the fields to a new location and hooking it up to a pump
  • -Bringing weeds, old plants, rotten crops to a compost bin and later disposing of the bin in a bigger compost pile
