Worked in all different sections of the Emergency Department using our combat medic scope of practice. Roles and Responsibilities were dependent on the section assigned during that shift.
- Front clinical duties consisted of properly triaging patients, taking vital signs, performing EKG's, collection of urine samples, and venipuncture including both blood draw and IV administration.
- Back clinical duties included supporting RN Staff while floating. Floating included proper cleaning and decontamination of rooms upon patient discharge, proper set up for admissions, patient transportation, stocking supply carts, and a large variety of support throughout the ER.
