Accomplishments

I am a recipient for the Director’s Award for the Central Region of Kentucky on April 16, 2020. I have recently discovered I was nominated for this award due to my compassion and above and beyond work ethic. Co-workers shared how touched they were when they overheard me working with an offender who could not read or write. I tried to refer this offender to the adult community center. However, he did not want to attend because he was afraid of the judgement he would receive from others. At that time I knew I had to go beyond my job duties, and help this offender. I reached out to a literacy teacher who gave me resources on teaching people how to read and write. This offender can now complete his report day sheet without assistance.
