Work History

As a Student

Food and Nutrition, Norte vista high school
Riverside, CA
08.2018 - 05.2021
  • This class taught basic sanitary procedures before prepping food such as washing your hands with soap and hot water, cleaning your counters and cooking equipment, having hair up or in a net, and wearing an apron and gloves to protect others and yourself.
  • We review a recipe by gathering information and creating instructions to later on create a certain dish from scratch by taking notes on ingredients, kitchen utensils that will be used, and clear step by step instructions with times and descriptions. We also watched our teacher do the task before hand so that we knew how to do it properly.
  • Learning was successful in this class by doing hands on cooking and baking using the correct kitchen utensils, cutting boards, keeping a timer, keeping an eye on the food and how it should look, wether it was mixing batter, cooking a certain meat, baking cookies, etc. when dealing with meat and vegetables it was important to use different cutting boards. we also learned to clean as we go if their was time in between so no clutter could be caused.
  • In this class we used the oven, the microwave to thaw out frozen foods, and a fire stove. we learned how to use the broiler but it was never used.
  • Back to the sanitary procedures, we make sure your kitchen area is cleaned up as you go so that no bacteria gets onto the food, followed by using separate cutting boards for meats and vegetables.
  • Simple safety procedures, as to what to do if someone was choking, how to not expand a fire and stop it instead, and many other hazardous things we should look out for in cooking steamed food, looking out for sharp utensils in the sink, again, using different cutting boards for meat and vegetables, making sure pot handles were faced the correct way, keeping clutter out of the way, were all some of the things we were taught to decrease injury.

Private Tutor

Self Employed
Riverside, CA
08.2020 - 12.2020
  • As a tutor I have helped children ages 3-9 with different subjects such as math, Spanish, english language arts, science and reading.
  • The techniques I used for these kids were repetition in words, writing down words that were mispronounced or misspelled, identified weaknesses in subjects to better understand their struggles, used flashcards for math and drew out different examples on a white board or on paper using pictures and real life situations as the questions, used different learning methods for every child depending on ages, went over books and had them take notes on their own, printed out different math sheets and Spanish language worksheets where they can point out an object to me and tell me what it is in Spanish, and with anything that they struggled with,I had them do it as homework for me. For example, I would give them words to spell out and words that they misspelled, they have to study it, pronounce it, learn the meaning and write a sentence using the word.
  • It is important for children to have extra help early on in order for them to understand things a little clearly, where they can feel comfortable enough to feel confident in themselves to do independent studies on the subject they struggle with. It is also important to make sure the child isn't bored and is constantly doing something different to help them learn every time they are studying or learning and that is the type of tutor I was. I like to make learning fun and I collaborated with parents to see what their learning style was, to create learning sessions appropriate for the students age.

Cashier/Sales Associate

Spirit Halloween
Riverside, CA
10.2020 - 10.2020
  • This was a seasonal job that ended on Halloween
  • Although I only worked from mid October to the 31st of October, i quickly memorized the store arrangements in order to prevent a hassle of locating an item for a customer
  • In that small period of time being a sales associate on the sales floor, the position held required to place items back on shelfs if misplaced , provide customers with any help on sizes or items in stock, and was quickly switched to cashier when the store was busy which was towards the days closer to
  • Halloween
  • Handling money correctly back to customers, scanning the correct items and discount codes, and giving the customer a friendly and helpful experience, is all important to me for the store and for the customers service
  • Lifting boxes more than 50lbs and reaching high areas were also part of the position as a sales associate and cashier at spirit Halloween.

Mobile Sales Associate

Metro PCS T-Mobile
Riverside, CA
07.2021 - 11.2021
  • My accomplishments while working here include learning quickly, communicating with customers about their visit to the mobile store and guiding them through any concerns they may have. I gained experience on how to be a sales person by having knowledge in the products we have in stock, keeping up with trainings and constantly checking on updates to stay up to date with the company and promotions.
  • During holidays, staying up to date required changing the promotional signs and banners on the stores walls used for advertisement, and memorizing the phones that had just came out, including promotional prices and regular prices for all sorts of new or existing customers.
  • This job consisted of working with multiple customers at once and multi tasking. Creating a good experience for the customer was important by making them feel welcomed and concerned about helping them out by figuring out what they were looking for. Working on a computer on different software's to solve their problems, or to set them up with whatever phone/family plans that worked best for them was also what the majority of this job consist of.
  • Showing up on time to this job was very important and is important for the stores reputation and to prevent slowing down other employees, especially if you were the key holder and opening up the store.
  • Being aware and cautious was always something that was taught due to possible burglaries, robberies, and fraud that could potentially happen anywhere.
  • My knowledge now consist of lots of customer service, speaking Spanish and English to different customers with different situations, memorization, quick learning, cautiousness, and friendliness.
