  • Job duties consist of protecting children from abuse and neglect and ensure the safety of the children. Utilizing available resources to help the children to remain in their own home. Establish temporary or seek permanent place through intervention.
  • Social Worker offers appropriate services to the families in order for caregiver to provide more adequate care of the children involved and that the family situation might be stabilized.
  • Duties include receiving intakes, referrals, investigating reports of child abuse and neglect, and taking necessary steps to implement safety and protect children to include possible removal. Conduct thorough investigations, safety assessment to determine the risk of harm.
  • Work involves investigating alleged neglect and abuse, substantiation of the alleged neglect or abuse according to federal and state guidelines, providing case management and preventive services for clients.
  • Job duties consist of responding quickly in crisis or dangerous situations that involve a child reported in abused, neglected or in a situation of dependency.
  • Child and Family Team meeting, developing case plans, identify supportive services and planning with the child's family toward the solution and prevention of problems causing neglect and abuse.
  • Duties consist of monitoring the case, completing home visits, making calls to providers, linking with community resources, staffing cases, while making sure client is able to remain safely at home.
  • Consist of court preparation or petitions, providing effective testimony in court hearings, and following-up with case management and preventive services for clients; obtaining medical records, psychiatric treatment; and for making recommendations.
  • Seeks supervisory consultation in providing guidance with challenging cases and decision making. Collaborated effectively with clinical providers, physicians, law enforcement, teachers, lawyers etc.
  • Maintaining a general knowledge of state policies, forms and computers in the use of Traverse, NCFast, Central Registry
