To be part of an organization that is innovative, nurturing, student centered and has high expectations. I bring a plethora of experience with my beginnings as a Bilingual teacher along with the many other various administrative positions that I have held. As an accomplished educational leader with twenty-nine years of in-depth experience, I look forward to sharing with others and supporting the success of the organization. My areas of expertise as follows directly and indirectly will help me in the role of Assistant Principal. Having previously been an instructional leader I have helped support teachers in the classroom, evaluated programs, reviewed data and implemented various support systems for Emergent Bilingual students.   • Implement with fidelity the Bilingual and ESL state programs in Clint ISD for students from Pre-K to 12th grade. Throughout the year my team and I ensured all policies and procedures for the district/state are followed. For the last five years, I spearheaded the implementation of the first Dual language 50/50 One-Way English/Spanish program model for Pre-K to 5th grade at all our Elementary campuses. As well as implemented for Secondary campuses the state ESL program with the Sheltered Instruction (SIOP) approach and Summit K12 program to support our Emergent Bilingual students. The focus is on ensuring our students meet or exceed the state and federal standards while increasing language proficiency levels and academic levels of all students. In addition, I led the planning and development of the first Newcomer Center focused on increasing newcomer student support, academic readiness, parent education and engagement. The continued partnerships with Texas English Learner Division from the Texas Education Agency, Region 19, and support from local Professors as well as various national presenters.

  • Responsibilities-Administrator- As an Assistant Principal I supported the vision of the Principal and supported with the following: facilitated and ensured the goals of the (PLC’s) were met, organized and held ARD’s, led LPAC for English Learners, established the PBIS Program, provided regular instructional feedback from walk-through’s and observations, organized state testing preparation and administration, set up parent attendance meetings, supported with discipline/restorative behavior support, and maintained the Campus Improvement plan. In addition, I ensured a positive learning environment, regularly held data meetings with teams and individual teachers, organized and provided strategic professional development throughout the year, maintained the budget and fiscal responsibilities, as well as keeping our community stakeholders well informed.
