Utilized my extensive Perioperative experience at this 1700 bed, Level 1 Trauma Center, as Case Manager within the Department of Anesthesia. The VPEC office (Vanderbilt Preoperative Evaluation Clinic) specializes in managing patient optimization for all surgical patients scheduled within the Medical system. Case Manager duties focus on team collaboration with Physicians & APPs for all patient needs, to ensure patient is prepared for surgery, with end goal of preventing same day cancellations. Extensive coordination, organization, and follow up is necessary, as many patients are traveling to the Nashville area from a distance for care. Consistently applying knowledge and skills to deliver evidence-based, high-quality patient care, both remotely and in person. Frequently promoting teamwork, contributing to process improvements, and supporting colleagues in achieving shared goals, both fellow Vanderbilt providers, and outside providers electronically, always ensuring patient confidentiality and meeting HIPAA regulations. Excellent at prioritizing case load related to date of surgery and patient needs, communicating effectively with all parties in a timely manner for last minute needs, changes, and updates. Expert with Epic EMR, Microsoft Teams. Hybrid position, approximately 90% remote.

PRN contract work through agency as needed. Able to promptly adjust to new and unfamiliar situations at a moment's notice. Highly experienced and professional Circulating Nurse with the flexibility to operate in nearly all specialties of surgery, with all age groups, including pediatrics. Frequently requested for return shifts by client facilities.

Circulating Nurse Position for Spine and Total Joint Replacement Surgeries. Collaborated with multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participated in quality improvement initiatives related to operating room processes. Prepared and maintained accurate records of patient care activities. Performed nursing tasks to deliver high level of care and comply with procedures and regulations.

Internal Travel Nurse Position. Circulated in all surgical specialties at this large university teaching hospital. Ensured patient safety and all documentation for procedure. Designated Level 1 Trauma Center. Completed 12 week Internal Traveler contract in early December 2023.

Travel Nurse position, Mills Surgery Center. Functioned as primary Circulating Nurse for heavy Ophthalmic surgery caseload, to include Cataracts and Vitrectomies. Busy Outpatient Center also performed Ortho, General, Podiatry, ENT, and Plastics. Floated as needed to Inpatient OR at sister campus, Mills-Peninsula Medical Center, and Circulated in Robotics, GYN, General, and Ortho. Completed original 13 week contract and extended for second contract.

Travel Nurse position. Renown Regional Medical Center is a Level II Trauma Center with over 900 beds. Circulated in various specialties: Ortho, GYN, General, ENT, Dental, Podiatry, Urology, Plastics, Vascular, Ophthalmology, and floated to Endoscopy as needed. Heavy pediatric patient population. Completed original 13 week contract and 2 additional extension contracts.

Provided exceptional direct patient care as both Pre/Post and Infusion Nurse. Administration of Conscious Sedation for Endoscopy procedures. Functioned as Infection Control Nurse for this busy GI practice and fast paced Endoscopy Unit. Maintained correct number of staffers to meet budget parameters while promoting high levels of patient care. Managed cases and oversaw nursing care with strong commitment to offering patients optimal treatments, resources and quality care.

Ambulatory Surgery Center; Registered Circulating Nurse responsible for the smooth operation of the daily schedule of a variety of surgical procedures in a fast paced Magnet Hospital Outpatient setting. Set up and turn over of OR for multiple specialties all in one day; to include insurance of availability of all necessary equipment, instrumentation and supplies for proposed surgery. Tasks included monitoring and education of nursing students on procedures and prioritization strategies.

Inpatient Operating Room Circulating Nurse responsible for a multitude of tasks to include: coordination of care with physicians and other clinicians for treatment and interventions in the delivery of comprehensive surgical services in a safe and therapeutic environment; to include all specialties in this 300 bed regional medical center.

Travel Nurse Position. Completed two 13 week contracts as an OR Circulating Nurse in this multi-specialty Outpatient Surgery Center. Quickly oriented in new EMS charting system (PICIS) to perform all duties of OR circulator for up to 13 surgeries a day. Heavy case load of ophthalmology, podiatry, GYN, and ENT procedures across all age groups and interacting with numerous cultures and multiple physicians.

Travel Nurse Position. Completed 13 week assignment at this Level 1 Trauma Center where all specialties are performed daily in 18 OR's, averaging 60 cases per day. Circulate and assist anesthesia, providing exceptional, experienced care to a variable patient population daily. Utilized Cerner charting system.

Travel Nurse Position. Functioned as OR Circulator at this 270 bed acute care facility in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Matthew's devastation to the surrounding community. Most specialties including Orthopedics, Urology, General, and Gynecological surgery were performed here. Was part of the regular schedule and also took extensive call during my stay. Utilized Meditech computer charting at this facility.

Functioned as primary Circulating RN at this free standing Outpatient Surgery Center with 2 OR Suites and 1 Endoscopy Suite. Helped to maintain quality care systems and standards to ensure compliance for AAAHC Accreditation. Worked as part of Nursing team for smooth operation of the facility by easily transitioning to pre/post/endo as needed. Responsible for Center's pharmaceutical stock and procurement. Highly adept at administration of Conscious Sedation.

Received original residency AORN Preoperative Nursing 101 training and performed all major specialties of inpatient OR to include Neuro, Vascular, and Trauma through 2004. Then moved to Outpatient Surgery at this Medical Center and trained in Endoscopy, Pre and Post, and Conscious Sedation. Care always based on patient-first comfort, dignity, and well being.
