Project Description:

Primary functionality of Trailer Forecast and Control System (TFCS) is to

• Forecasts loads between all UPS operating locations
• Manages trailer inventory and tracks trailers which includes UPS owned ground and air trailers, rental trailers, one-way trailers, drop shipments, railroad trailers and package cars.
• Manages SLIC information.
• Provides outbound, inbound and unload records for all loads on trailer and package cars to Global Internal Package Level Detailed system (GIPLD)
• TFCS users can place ULD exceptions and transmit these exceptions to GIPLD.

TFCS data sources:

• Hub Feeder Control System (HFCS) – Preforecasts, Cancelled Preforecasts, Arrivals and Departures.
• Feeder Scheduling (FS) – Load Routes and Schedules.
• Global Scanning System (GSS) – Outbound Pick list.
• Air Hub Control System (AHCS) – Arrivals and Departures.

Project name - LH - Load Handling

Project Description:

Primary functionality of Load Handling is to

• Generate loads by grouping of packages from common origin, origin sort to common destination, destination sort,
• Assign loads to ULDs.
• Keep track of and allow departures/arrivals of loads.
• Relay departure/arrival information on to appropriate systems (GIPLD, AHCS, DWB, ALP etc.).

Load Handling uses Online screens, Real-time interfaces, Online reports generation and Batch jobs. Load Handling manages 4 types of data.

• Load Plan – Information about air and ground movement.
• Load – Load is grouping of packages that are travelling from same origin to same destination on same date with same service level.
• Container – Container ULD (Unit Load Service) and it can have loads assigned to them and can be placed on Load Plans so that can be moved from one site to another site.
• Location – Location is physical site, like Hub or Gateway.

Responsibilities:

• Understand client's business requirements by attending functional work sessions with business users, business analyst and interfacing application teams for any development and enhancement projects.
• Provide technical solution for business requirements and obtain concurrence from UPS Architects and Leads.
• Identify application-level impacts based on business requirements and provide time and effort needed to build project without compromising on quality of deliverables.
• Responsible for effective communication between project team and customer. Provide day to day direction to project team and regular project status to customer.
• Responsible for providing 24/7 application monitoring and production support.
• Create test strategy and test plan and test application using client specified tools like EXPEDITOR and INTERTEST.
• Perform repetitive regression testing to make sure smooth migration from IMSDC/DB to CICS/DB2.
• Prepare implementation plan and provide support during production implementation and validate changes post implementation.
• Identify pain area of client application and provide innovative solution to address same.
• Analyze entire application using modernization tools like IBM CAST imaging tool, WINSCP, Topaz Workbench and create road map for application decommission effort.
• Automate manual processes using REXX based tools and help client to save time and cost.

Contribution:

• Created roadmap for TFCS decommission effort using mainframe modernization tools like IBM Cast imaging tool and WINSCP.
• Performed impact analysis for TFCS VSAM Obsolescence effort and migrated few VSAM files into DB2 tables.
• Successfully migrated Load Handling application from IMSDC/ DB environment to CICS/DB2 environment and provided 24/7 production support for successful migration.
• Successfully migrated Load Handling application from one LPAR to another LPAR to reduce MIPS by shutting down old LPAR.
• Created new process which helps to move ULD management functionality from Load Handling to GOS without impacting ULD related functionalities in Load Handling.
• Created new process to handle Air trailer messages from GSS to remove Ground Movement functionalities out from Load Handling.
• Created many REXX based tools which helps team and client to reduce manual effort and manual errors.

Project Name - Consumer Driven Healthcare (CDH)

Project Description:

This project supports new enhancements/updates to Express Scripts' POS (Point-Of-Sale) adjudication system & CDH (Consumer Driven Healthcare). Express Scripts' Pharmacy Benefits Management system consists of the tiered architecture between B2B System, Midrange System and Mainframe Claim Services Systems. Mainframe claim-services form the backbone of the POS System which calculates benefits and Out-of-Pocket expenses and updates the Indemnity amounts.

Consumer Driven Healthcare (CDH) is a sub-application of core adjudication system POS. This interacts with Medical Vendor system to make sure that shared benefits are updated with correct dollar amounts for accumulators.

Project Name - Point of Sale (POS)

Project Description:

POS is on-line pharmacy claim adjudication system, and it is the heart of Claim adjudication system. When a member of a Paid Card or Mail plan has a prescription filled at participating pharmacy, the pharmacy transmits the claim information to the Tele paid POS system in a standard NCPDP format. POS accepts claims, verifies member / dependent eligibility, group, and drug plan, determines pharmacy participation in pharmacy network – PPO, checks claim for duplicates, performs drug utilization review –DUR, prices prescription, calculates deductible/ CAP / OOP, saves claims on POS, Customer service data base and IW, transmits claim response back to the pharmacy.

Responsibilities:

• As offshore lead, understand requirements of projects assigned to offshore team and setup meeting with team members and give them overview of each project.
• Perform impact analysis to identify components to be modified and prepare analysis document and low-level design document.
• Develop Batch & Online Applications using JCL, COBOL, CICS, REXX & DB2.
• Take care of creating Test cases, Preparing Test data, and execute test cases for happy path scenarios and error scenarios.
• Review code changes, test results of all projects developed by offshore team before providing updates to onsite coordinator or client.
• Coordinate with QA and Regression testing team and make them understand requirements and help them to complete their testing by providing test strategy and test plan.
• Brings up more innovation ideas to team which reduces manual effort and improves Quality of system code/claims.
• Identify pain area of client application and provide innovative solution to address same. This can be processing improvement or automate processes which needs more manual efforts.
• Identifying Risks/Deviation in projects and communicating same to client on time with feasible solutions whenever required.
• Prepare review checklist during project implementation time and shares it across team.
• Setup Knowledge Transition sessions to new joiners to make them understand application at both process and functional level before start working on projects.

Contribution:

• Created process to implement Reconciliation report for CASTLIGHT non CDH (Consumer Driven Healthcare) clients.
• Decoupled CDH (Consumer Driven Healthcare) application from other applications to reduce dependency on other interface applications.
• Harness Tool - This tool helps to process real-time SBOR (Single Book of Record) claims and perform regression testing in non-connectivity regions.
• Heartbeat Process - This process helps Anthem LITES vendors to reduce claim rejection due to TCP/IP connectivity issue. This tool monitors connectivity status and switching connection lines between primary and secondary.
• ENDEVOR package - REXX tool to add or move components to different regions. This tool can generate SCL card for COPYBOOK impacted components or user provided list of components.
• Claim Resend process - REXX tool to automate claims resend process for all type of vendor connections (Real time, Near Real time, Batch).
• TEST JCL Creation - REXX tool to generate test JCLs from given PROD JCL's. This tool can change all PROD qualifiers into its corresponding test qualifiers in all JCL, PROC and control cards.
