Onboarding Supervisor

  • Supervised the Onboarding Administration team of 15 people while they assist potential crew members through the initial documentation process required to work onboard
  • Guide the team as they gather, review, and enter candidate documentation.
  • Review the entered data in applicant tracking system
  • Provide training and support to new Onboarding Administrators.
  • Generate weekly reports for the three NCLH brands: Norwegian Cruise Lines, Regent Seven Seas, and Oceania Cruises. These reports are used throughout the department (i.e., Onboarding, Scheduling, and Recruitment) to show cancellations and timelines for new hires, as well as the retention data of current crew members.
  • Conduct post recruitment analysis for the department
  • Provide Custom Border Patrol (CBP) weekly Joiners Report for the turn-port cities
  • Provide leaver reports for CBP in New York outside of regular office hours
  • Coordinate with the Assignment Specialists team to ensure that the pipeline of applicants is at par level and meets the upcoming needs of the vessels.
  • Elevate any additional manning needs to the Talent Acquisition Manager in a biweekly meeting to conduct recruitment and processing before the pipeline is dry.
  • Ensure backgrounds are requested correctly maintaining confidentiality and compliance
  • Working closely with our 3rd party vendor ensuring timely and accurate processing of International and local background checks

  • Audit local police reports for all new hires were being requested
  • Used Verified Credentials the annual backgrounds current for the crew on the private islands, so they could comply with local authorities’ requirements for local work permits
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and gap pool numbers in the applicant tracking system, and provide reports to ensure that the recruitment/hiring process is done in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Work closely with the medical department to prioritize the pre-employment medical clearance processes
  • Volunteer as one of the Safety/Fire Wardens for Shipboard HR Operations Department.
  • Manage team-building functions for the department, which consists of 90+ people.
  • Host activities to build and maintain a cohesive relationship between departments.
  • Reimbursement expenses reviewed and approved/denied travel expenses for embarking/debarking crew for all three brands.

  • Manage the process of collecting and verifying documentation including ordering/reviewing background for joining crew and global hiring partners (new hires/rehires) is compliant with international and local requirements
  • Responsible for all logistic requirements for joining crew, which includes air transportation, ground transportation and hotel arrangements for my assigned ship
  • Assist in auditing invoices with the Fleet Account Coordinator to ensure crew movement invoices are valid and correct including hotel and meals, ground transportation, port agent fees, and airline tickets fees and expenses
  • Coordinate with the Assignment Specialists team, Travel team and Global Hiring Partners to research and procure the most cost-effective travel, while maintaining compliance with established policies, and applicable regional visa restrictions.
