  • After three years working as a volunteer at Westfield Elementary in a reading program to help students reach grade level, I began substituting at schools throughout the district. After two more years, I concentrated on teaching in elementary schools because the younger students are more receptive and eager to learn. In the older grades, I mainly supervised.

In August 2023, I took over for a 4th grade teacher who was on Medical leave. This year, I had to formulate my own lesson plans, correct all papers, and meet with parents at Fall Parent Teacher Conference. I worked with the rest of the 4th grade team to follow their lead. I worked until Thanksgiving.
