Summary

Experienced with Industrial, and commercial job sites. I have the ability to adapt to different and evolving environments. Being in the Trades for over a decade, im comfortable in my ability to be around other trades and equipment. I have been a Union Insulator for over 9 years. In the dynamic pace of new construction meeting timelines, ordering materials, and keeping safety and housekeeping in my vision to make the work flow smooth.

The past few years have had ups and downs in the workload and following a slowdown in my last company I decided, even though insulation is a great career, I need to make a shift from an industry that is becoming more standardized with pre-insulated systems into something with a more stable demand and opportunities for technical development.

These past eight months I have had the opportunity to shadow a seasoned applied HVAC mechanic to build a real-world understanding of chillers and the systems I have been insulating. Simultaneously taking online courses that I have personally invested in have shown me that applied HVAC is a great career that will not be going away for skilled technicians and mechanics.

Having a Wife (Grace Andrews) and two young children (Mary-8, Wyatt-6), they are witnessing a difficult but rewarding career change that I will not stop pursuing and will be proof that if you put the blood sweat and tears into what you want, then you can achieve anything.

Four years in the Army I learned being mentally tough and never giving in to doubts or fear of the unknown is the only way to succeed. I am 34 years old and have no problem working under younger individuals.

I have a clean valid driver license, and will pass a drug test. I am ready and willing work overtime, weekend, or holidays. I am looking forward to working in this great industry and becoming an asset to your Company if given the chance.

  • One example of an emergency call that I accompanied my mentor in: Mariott in Concord. A York DK low pressure 150 Ton machine tripped on high head, He switched to manuel reset, we noticed Con-press ~8 psi and CNDE water was high ~90+, we made our way to the cooling towers and fan was off (but can spin freely), checked fan motor starter and noticed it tripped, checked fuses and had 1 blown. customer happened to have a replacement and we got it started and temperatures slowly dropped to normal at a 4 degree approach.
  • As a trainee, I am able to be around other journeyman, apprentices, and tradesman. I always make sure to stay in my lane and not compromise their process. I ask questions, take notes, and give a hand with anything that they ask, as well as wearing my own PPE and FR clothing.
