Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software specialized in utility programs
Analyze user needs and develop software solutions
Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency
Using Component interaction of a distributed application communicate with each other through well-defined interfaces
Network protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, or specialized messaging systems
Data that is exchanged in structured formats, such as XML or JSON, enabling communication between components residing on different machines
Manages all aspects of joint development and assists with vendor negotiations
Manages all aspects of testing and verification ensuring all tasks are performed for all interfaces
This is a first shift position working with a team of co-developers
Create Technical Design documents for themselves or others, from Functional Design documents
Strong program/job development and unit testing Ensure development is performed to the specifications
Develop test plans, coding, perform unit and integration testing of software
Create dashboard in Qlik to visualize the effect of the data that is required
Continous improving the dashboard performance and usability
Integrate test automation within Azure DevOps pipelines for Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD)
Identify log and track defects, and work closely with the developers team to resolved issues and defects
Monitor and analyze test results, report to the team on the progress and test plans have been executed and meet as required
Participate and schedule code reviews and provide feedback to the team on ways to improve the quality of testing
Work in an Agile Scrum environment to test the modernization of existing legacy system to a new technology platform and cloud integration
Support requirement capture and documentation for IT modernization efforts
Execute test- includes mainly Functional Testing but also could include the Performance
Functional testing includes both-end and back-end testing
Utilize JIRA to create Test Cases, track test execution, and triage defects
Provide estimates, technical recommendations, and test solutions based on technical and business requirements
Drive back-to-front development of application components
Competent to work on complex programming and analysis projects with limited direction
Develop thorough test cases (normal and exception) and fully test programs using standard accepted practices for unit testing and system testing
Utilize Control-M TO Build, define, schedule, deploy, manage, and monitor production workflows at scale from a single view, ensuring visibility and reliability, and improving SLAs
Synsort usages to build to construct the new records from the beginning, use Overlay to modify as needed
Use many files in different ways and order, reconstruction of the key is a big part of the data modification
Ensure that the system is updated with the most accurate information
Experience in STLC using Mainframe technology
Testing JCL, write SQL queries, and debug and programming in COBOL/CICS, DB2, Vsam, programs with Expeditor
Experience with IBM Utilities
Daily responsibilities include scheduling, modifying and monitoring production mainframe jobs, completing daily and weekly balancing procedures, modifying JCL as requested by programmers
Monitor execution of automated and manually submitted jobs and adjust schedules to ensure completion and timely delivery of production work
Analyze, plan, and manage production control activities to improve job runtimes
Troubleshoot basic errors related to batch processing abends, analyze root causes, and work to derive solutions to ensure issues have been corrected at root cause to improve system integrity and productivity
Work closely with mainframe developers to address production issues and related fixes
Participate in testing new batch processes to ensure productivity is not adversely affected
Escalates issues as appropriate
Implement operating procedures and timely documentation of procedures; ensure implementation is in accordance with standard operating procedures and follows same; escalate errors as appropriate
Extracting the business logic from these programs and framing test scenarios and test cases as per requirement for existing programs written in Cobol/CICS/DB2/IMS, Vsam, Sort, Synsort
Writing Code, Cobol/CICS/DB2/IMS and Mainframe Assembly
Test Automation using UFT including Framework development, Framework maintenance, Framework Optimization, Automation Strategizing, Automation Planning and Automation Test Execution
Testing (participate with the users in the system testing of programs
Work with Control-M and CA-Esp tools
Work with RACF, CA-7, Jira, Control-M, Rexx and CA Scheduling
Work closely with technical experts, project leads, project managers and program managers in planning, creating and managing project schedules
Experience in integration items like DTCC, DST
Review the coding and unit test results, guide the team for on time delivery
Work with Business Analyst, QA team for defects
Rotating 24 x 7 on call support
Utilized MQ Z/OS Commands trace records for programs or transaction
Utilized Database replication process of copying data and storing it in different location
Performing data replication ensure there is a consistent copy of the database across all the nodes in a distributed system
Experience in the utilization for SMS, VTL
Experience in Hogan application
Experience Operation Role for on call support
