  • As the Battalion Chief I provided oversight of all (4)fire stations ( Lieutenants, Engineers, Firefighters and EMS Personnel) equipment, apparatus, and related work, as required.
  • Responsible for all operational and administrative matters for the assigned stations.
  • Oversee personnel problems and provides corrective measures as necessary or requested by Fire Chief per guidelines and regulations of the WM Fire Department.
  • Command fire, rescue, and medical operations for the assigned stations.Command and control emergency operations involving multiple personnel, multiple fire companies, and multiple outside agencies
  • Overseer of daily operations: Assigned personnel duties, approved and submitted bi-weekly payroll and scheduled overtime as needed, vacation/or sick - leave.
  • Scheduled subordinate officer meetings and shift meetings as directed or needed.
  • Coordinate and conducted required daily training events such as (In Service training, Fire & Hazmat, Vehicle Extraction etc).
  • The Incident Safety Officer on an emergency scenes: Communicated/instructed emergency dispatch for Fire & EMS calls. Command and control emergency operations involving multiple personnel, multiple fire companies, and multiple outside agencies. Submitted official reports of fire events including injuries or damages. Conducted a "Post Fire" staffing with personnel to evaluate the chain of events that occurred and making corrections as needed per the fire safety guidelines. Tactical procedure improvements and critical thinking scenario's for fighting fires.
  • Mentored, motivated, and guided personnel as necessary to be the best including conflict resolution and grievances beginning at the lowest level.
  • Worked directly with the Fire Chief in reference to operational or personnel changes.
