• Lead Architecture and Engineering for Adaptive Bitrate Streaming (ABR) based IP Video delivery platform for Spectrum TV application at Charter. Responsible for leading technology strategy and end-to-end platform development which includes Content ingest from various Programmer, Video Encoding (AVC, HEVC), HLS and DASH packaging for ABR streaming, Content Protection and multi-DRM platform, multi-CDN, Cloud DVR and cloud-based Time Shifted Buffer implementation, Dynamic Ad Insertion using server-side Ad insertion for Charter and Programmers, Blackout automation and ABR player integration. Launch one of the first MPEG-DASH streaming platform with DAI for Linear and VOD streams for desktop, Android, Xbox, Roku and Samsung TV platform. Lead architecture/design for higher efficiency, lower CAPEX/OPEX cost, and higher resiliency.
• Develop Dynamic Ad Insertion platform for IP streaming platform that supports Ad campaigns for MVPD and Programmer Partners. Platform supports targeted advertising, direct sales and programmatic campaigns, flexible inventory routing, accurate impressions/quartile tracking. Lead software development of components for end-to-end Ad stack.
• Lead initiative to enhance content protection platform and mitigate video piracy. Analyze potential vulnerabilities in existing flows and come up with enhancements to secure the flows. • At MystroTV (TimeWarner) implement first Network DVR application for US Cable that allows for pausing live TV, StartOver, Lookback.
• At MoreCom/Liberate (technology startup in early 2000s) develop HTML/Javascript based middleware from ground up, which was optimized for resource constraint digital set-tops. Middleware supported extensions to control and manage video services from HTML/Javascript applications.
