• Being a store clerk manager made me contribute to improve the business by coming up with ideas and promoting the business through social media to help gain more customers.
• I volunteered in school blood draws and in local blood draws that would happen yearly at my community and that helped me get into phlebotomy.
• I am currently volunteering with Red Cross by installing fire smoke detectors, by assisting in providing food, clothes, and personal care items for disaster victims.
• I volunteer at Auntie Na’s Village by providing those in need with hygiene kits and food baskets.
• I volunteered in shadowing doctors, PA’s, and NPs to gain better knowledge of their roles in providing patient care.
• I volunteer with DH Coalition by collecting petitions, passing out flyers, and spreading awareness about environmental health in Detroit and nearby places.
• I am currently completing an internship at Westside Community Health Center (WCHC), where I am gaining invaluable experience in patient care, public health initiatives, and community outreach. In this role, I work closely with healthcare professionals to support various clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care. This ongoing experience has allowed me to engage with diverse patient populations, strengthen my communication skills, and deepen my understanding of the complexities involved in providing healthcare to underserved communities. My internship at WCHC continues to reinforce my commitment to bridging the gap in healthcare access and motivates me to pursue a career as a physician dedicated to community-centered care and preventive health.
