My 46 years as a Forester and Certified Arborist has provided me with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary work both as a team member and supervisor across a wide cross section of the green industry. I have been fortunate to have been exposed to all aspects of vegetation management both in the urban environment and forest settings. I am strongly driven by the belief that we as care takers of the environment speak for the trees and are responsible for the care of the ecosystem we are dependant upon.
I have a strong background in tree care and community involvement providing diagnosis of plant health issues and educational support to clients, contributing to significant business growth and team development.
Subsequent to the sale of Integrity Tree Care to Sava Tree I was hired as a Sales Arborist servicing areas throughout the Vancouver and Portland Metro area. My time as the company General Manager was divided equally between managing the field crews providing educational and client service programs, hiring and disciplinary actions, mentoring and professional growth responsibilities and residential/commercial sales.
I started at Collier Arbor Care as a lawn care/Plant Health Care (PHC) technician obtaining my ISA Arborist Certification, Oregon Commercial Pesticide Applicators license and ISA Tree Risk Assessor Qualification providing lawn and tree/shrub insect and disease treatments along with pruning and removal services. In 1998 I was promoted to the Plant Health Care/Lawn Care Department Supervisor overseeing both until I left the company in 2015 three years after the company was purchased by Bartlett Tree Experts. During my tenure in this position, I was proud to have been an active member of the local tree care community helping to develop many of the IPM based programs and services currently employed throughout the Pacific North West.
