Monitoring patient health: Taking vital signs like temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration, and weight.
Collecting specimens: Taking blood samples and other specimens for testing.
Preparing patients for procedures: Explaining what will happen to patients and preparing them for procedures like EKGs.
Collecting samples: Draw blood samples for a variety of reasons, including drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams.
Preparing samples: Prepare samples for lab testing.
Verifying patient information: Verify patient demographic information.
Data entry: Enter billing information and process specimens.
Apheresis machine operation:
Setting up and operating apheresis machines according to established procedures.
Donor education:
Providing information to donors about the plasma donation process and addressing any concerns they may have.
Ensure the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
