Supervises and coordinates the cleaning of the school facilities.
Plans and directs the custodial work at the school.
Demonstrates work procedures as needed.
Keeps buildings and grounds in a clean and sanitary condition.
Helps to maintain the school’s heating and cooling systems by tending, cleaning and making minor repairs and adjustments.
Cleans windows, walls, woodwork and bathrooms.
Replenishes tissue, towels and soap.
Vacuums, sweeps, strips, scrubs, waxes, polishes and mops floors.
Replaces light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.
Dusts and arranges furniture and moves equipment and supplies.
Empties wastebaskets and other containers and picks up paper or other trash from school grounds.
Submits workorders for any damages or needed repairs.
Coordinates summer maintenance schedules (stripping and waxing classroom and hallway floors, deep cleaning building).
Acts as the First Responder to safety and security issues, hazards, adverse weather, alarms, fire, water breaks and mechanical issues.
Performs routine inspections of school cleanliness.
Performs safety inspections of fire extinguisher and sprinkler systems.
Acts as a point of contact for visitors, contractors and maintenance technicians.
Coordinates with staff and outside groups in the preparation of building use for sporting events and the auditorium for performances.
Maintains a custodial operating budget; keeps track of and orders necessary custodial supplies.
Provides guidance for MSDS sheets and OSHA standards for proper use of green chemicals used to clean the facilities.
Trains custodial staff on following precautions and standard procedures for handling bodily fluids.
Performs routine training for staff on use of equipment and procedures.
Conducts a safety meeting with staff and participate in required on-line safety courses as a group.
Performs regular maintenance on custodial equipment (oil changes, cleaning, updating records, and etc.).
Monitors generator exercises.
Conducts general maintenance on minor building issues (carpentry, locksmith, and light duty painting).
Submits computer generated work orders to correct issues within the building and grounds that require assistance from Facilities and Operations Staff.
Follows and has a knowledge of cleaning procedures adopted by Cabarrus County Schools.
Supervises Facility Service's staff under Facility Service's Supervisor
Assigns work to staff/reassigns work to cover absent locations
Evaluates work of staff to comply with county standards
Supervises floor care projects
Manages second shifts time via Kronos or Excel
Presents annual employee evaluations
Trains new hired employees
Inspects/performs supply and equipment inventory
Submits/receives work orders
Maintains/audits/files Facility Service's supply sheets
Communicates daily with Facility Service's Supervisor and staff
Assists with furniture moves
Assists with unloading delivered supplies
Assists with set ups and events
Audits supply inventory in warehouse
Perform and execute the various requirements of custodial responsibilities with a keen attention to detail. Including but not limited to:
Stripping and waxing County flooring
Carpet cleaning/extracting
Operating all County floor machinery
Prepping and resurfacing various styles of flooring
WIndow Cleaning
Covering all custodial jobs when needed
Locking down all County Buildings when needed
Cleaning Midland Library
Cleaning Cabarrus County Parking Deck
Cleaning Rotary Square
Basic computer knowledge and skills
Thorough and effective communication with supervisors and customers
Organize, direct, and supervise lawncare management for commercial and residential properties.
Worked and lead a team of facility employees performing and maintaining warehouse order. Including: Forklift operating, high lift operator, and inventory.
