Roomed clients and their animals, including exotics. Discussed vaccines, ongoing issues, possible diagnostics and treatments for patients, then accurately relayed information to attending DVM. Helped administer treatments including oral medications and IM, SQ, and IV injections. Acquired venipuncture skills such as placing IV catheters and performing; cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood draws. Performed x-rays, assisted with ultrasound, monitoring during CT scans, and ran in-house labwork. Performed dental cleanings and dental x-rays. Filled prescriptions for patients whether oral, or injectable and reviewed in detail with clients. Responsible for performing treatments and caring for any hospitalized patients, including creating comprehensive treatment sheets and performed hourly rounds om patients under the care of the attending DVM. Helping triage any emergency/critical patients in a timely and organized manner. Wrote accurate DVM's notes for patients including all vitals, history, treatments and diagnostics preformed on patient. Contacted clients daily via phone calls to asses the efficacy of the treatment plan. Learned accurate monitoring of exotics under anesthesia, as well as administering injections depending on patient physiology.

Responsible for medicating all dogs and cats throughout facility, as well as checking on animals welfare on a daily basis. Helping prep for surgery: cleaning all equipment, wrapping sterile instrument packs, wrapping sterile gowns, pressure checking oxygen, filling isoflurane, bringing in dogs and cats from facility to clinic; drawing, logging, and administering pre-surgery sedatives. Then administering IV injections without catheterizing. Performed intubation, administered needed vaccines and microchips. As well as assisting in drawing blood needed for and necessary tests. Before shaving and expelling bladder for surgery. Helped maintain proper health of animals by monitoring vitals during surgery, as well as properly recovering patients. End of day responsibilities included: cleaning all equipment and instruments, cleaning surgery laundry, cleaning kennels of all animals once they had left, cleaning clinic and surgery rooms. Responsible for also conducting medical evaluations on stray/surrendered animals as they arrived at the shelter. Also assisted operations throughout facility with: cleaning adoption kennels, maintaining outdoor meet and greet yards, as well as overall appearance of outdoor facilities. (Discuss PPE)

Responsible for opening or closing facility. Letting out dogs individually into separate play yards ensuring that any fence aggressive or aggressive dogs are not next to another guest. Making meals adhering to customers specific instructions. Giving proper medications. Taking pictures of dogs that have arrived and every other day for upload so clients can see that they are enjoying their visit. Giving field hikes to dogs that have it scheduled. Helping maintain and clean facility throughout the day. Bathing and clipping nails of dogs as well as brushing out fur to make sure it does not get knotted. Taking extra precautions and following specific instructions for dogs who have recently underwent surgery.

• Part-Time Receptionist

Responsible for answering front desk phones and communicating with clients about the specifics of their reservation. Created new reservations and altered existing ones. Scheduled services and ascertained details about client medication specifics. Communicated with clients about health concerns and feeding issues. Was also responsible for constructing end of day email to resort owner about the condition of the facility and every canine guests overall health. Also managed billing for clients as well as submitting an end of day cash flow report to resort owner. All while still effectively completing tasks as a full time kennel technician.

• Janitorial Duties

Maintained, sanitized, and cleaned facility carrying out tasks such as: dust mopping and mopping facility on a daily basis, vacuumed floors and rugs, thoroughly cleaned bathrooms, cleaned grooming kennels, washed dishes and bowls of canine guests, chemically sanitized outdoor runs daily and indoor kennels after guest departure. At end of day secured facility by checking and locking all doors, windows, checked lights, turned off all equipment, activated security alarm and locked front door. Performed while completing previous two delegated positions in a current shift.
