Roomed clients and their animals, including exotics. Discussed vaccines, ongoing issues, possible diagnostics and treatments for patients, then accurately relayed information to attending DVM. Helped administer treatments including oral medications and IM, SQ, and IV injections. Acquired venipuncture skills such as placing IV catheters and performing; cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood draws. Performed x-rays, assisted with ultrasound, monitoring during CT scans, and ran in-house labwork. Performed dental cleanings and dental x-rays. Filled prescriptions for patients whether oral, or injectable and reviewed in detail with clients. Responsible for performing treatments and caring for any hospitalized patients, including creating comprehensive treatment sheets and performed hourly rounds om patients under the care of the attending DVM. Helping triage any emergency/critical patients in a timely and organized manner. Wrote accurate DVM's notes for patients including all vitals, history, treatments and diagnostics preformed on patient. Scheduled services and ascertained details about client medication specifics. Communicated with clients about health concerns and feeding issues. Was also responsible for constructing end of day email to resort owner about the condition of the facility and every canine guests overall health. Also managed billing for clients as well as submitting an end of day cash flow report to resort owner. All while still effectively completing tasks as a full time kennel technician.


  • Janitorial Duties

Maintained, sanitized, and cleaned facility carrying out tasks such as: dust mopping and mopping facility on a daily basis, vacuumed floors and rugs, thoroughly cleaned bathrooms, cleaned grooming kennels, washed dishes and bowls of canine guests, chemically sanitized outdoor runs daily and indoor kennels after guest departure. At end of day secured facility by checking and locking all doors, windows, checked lights, turned off all equipment, activated security alarm and locked front door.
