Houston Police Department Life Saving Award (Nominee)

I was nominated for the Houston Police Department Sergeant Paul S. Weido Life Saving Award for my actions during a major vehicle crash on June 2, 2026. At the time, I was serving as the Field Training Officer for a probationary police officer. After locating a critically injured victim with a severe leg injury and life-threatening bleeding, I coordinated emergency response efforts, assisted with scene safety, and helped direct the medical response while my probationary officer began hemorrhage control. I then applied additional tourniquets to control the bleeding until HFD paramedics arrived. The victim survived and was transported to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment. This recognition reflects my ability to lead under pressure, guide newer officers in high-stress situations, apply lifesaving training, and act decisively when seconds matter.
