* I have enjoyed my membership and Involvement in CAP since 2014.
* I initially Joined CAP after my son attained "eagle scout" and he was in high school doing some sports in which he was "somewhat granted involvement" in baseball (travel team)
* We Joined the Walter Schirra (090) composite squadron in 2014. I had various jobs in this small squadron ranging from PAO, Testing Officer & Then ES.
* In 2015 I attended the Hawk Mountain NCSA. ( requested by my ES officer) The 10 day NCSA was the most challenging activity I have ever done at 53 years of age. I did everything from a 20 mile Field Training Exercise (FTX) to repelling from a 100 Ft tower to PT at 0530 and instruction to 2200 hrs. I was pushed to my limit of Physical and Mental endurance. I attained GMT2 in ES and I lost 17 Pounds in this 'demanding NCSA". It was a surreal experience.
* CAP Not only prepared me but it helped my son attain a Officer grade in CAP to making contacts like the Full commander of McGuire AFB. This commander was the guest of honor at a CAP wing Conference in 2015. My son forged such a relationship that Col. Trevor C.Hodges wrote him a glowing letter of recommendation for a nomination to the USAFA ( he ultimately received 3 nominations. )
* I promoted to 1St Lt at the squadron and my son graduated high school in 2016.
* My family and myself moved to Monument in 2016 ( to live a better life) and my son ultimately went to CU Boulder and joined ROTC. I retired from a great sales career after I attained all my goals I had laid out 25 years earlier.
* I then Joined the "Wolpack Squadron" in 2017 to have various jobs ranging from admin to eventually Recruiting and Retention which is my current Master Specialty tract.
* in 2017 I also served on staff for the Space familiarization NCSA in which I found this activity interesting given my Cold war
perspective. ( Born in 1961, the height of the arms race)
* In the fall of 2018 I was promoted to Captain and I have enjoyed working with cadets and senior members enhancing our squadron.
* In 2020 just before Covid the squadron grew from a total membership of 75 to 136 members ( 101 cadets). Covid changed the dynamic for 2 years and our squadron lost it "mentorship ability" and membership declined to just over two dozen active cadets.
* In 2021 My son Graduated CU Boulder ROTC with a Commission in the USAF. His first posting was at Langley VA. This partnership allowed him to attain his Private Pilot's rating w 130 Hours of flight.
* In 2023 my son was promoted to a "CSO" student stationed at Pensacola
NAS after taking flight tests over in which he did excellent. He owed much of this success to CAP & where it can take a seasoned individual to excellence.
*2024 is here and once agin its my personal goal to bring the squadron to where it was (membership) in 2020.
* In February 2024 I completed my Masters Track which was the only requirement I had to promote to O-4.
* I always look forward to CAP meetings and doing what I can to help our current commander bring our squadron to one of the premiere squadrons in Colorado and the country. Cap is a great organization and it can take cadets and senior to new heights and achievements.
* Responsible for the Recruiting and Retention of potential cadets and senior members.
* Followed up on all leads (Schools, Military,Cap Transfers) to increase squadron size and makeup.
* Worked with potential new members & the Commander (both cadets and seniors) to fill cadet membership and senior staffing of available positions within the squadron.
* Worked with Cadet Recruiting to guide the process of new cadet in-boarding & processing. Mentored cadet membership on CAP branding and its USAF total force relationship
* Worked with the squadron PAO & cadet staff to Promote CAP & Unit membership retention.
* 31 years in sales in the Competitive NYC marketplace has provided me with a unique skill sets in "product promotion" My current product promotion is CAP, A unique product
* This has led me to promote the CAP brand since 2014
* CAP Jobs have initially been PAO 12/2014, ES 4/2016
Admin 11/2018, R&R 11/2018
* NCSA"s Hawk Mountain Summer 2015, Space Familiarization summer 2017
* Recruiting Master certification 2/2024
