William P. Wygant

From an early age, I have been interested in and fascinated by politics and history. I believe that political and historical literacy is vital to the health of society, and this makes my studies at the University of North Texas particularly important to me.

• While in my sophomore year of high school, I was honored to chosen by a mentor as a participant in the Dallas Area Model United Nations. During this event I participated in the crisis committee in which we were presented with a scenario and tasked to solve a series of crises arising from it.

• Throughout in my junior year of high school I was on my school's varsity Academic Decathlon team. This required me to dedicate myself to the study and performance of ten rigorous categories of material including economics, history, music, prepared and impromptu speeches, and more. Our team competed against Academic Decathlon teams from high schools throughout Texas.
